About the event

The National Peace Walk is the third pilgrimage in a line of public witness organized by Brooklyn Quakers since early 2025. Starting with the Walk to Washington, a demonstration of solidarity with migrants in the United States during a height of encroachment by ICE into communities around the country, Quakers left Brooklyn for a journey by foot to speak truth to power to the United States congress, and advocate for the natural rights of all who would cross borders into the United States. October saw the Peaceward pilgrimage - an effort to meet with Quakers for recorded conversations from the still-living memory of activism by the society of Friends. The walk, following the same route from New York to Washington, D.C., which met with the same Friends who had supported the Walk to Washington, collected 30 stories from Quakers and is currently publishing each online.
