Description

A First Monday Lecture with Layla James Cuthrell

In this lecture, Layla discusses the role of faith in her life and the intersectionality of religious and trans identity – exploring how spiritual revelations can give way to gender revelations. Layla reflects on what bridged the gap between her and spiritual community, and the role of video media as a catalyst for these many eye-opening insights. The growing media landscape has created new frontiers through which to speak to one’s condition, and the evolution of video ministry speaks to an evolving spiritual audience in a new age of communication.

Layla is presenting this lecture in her role as an advisory board member of the Friends Incubator for Public Ministry, as part of the start of the cohort’s residency at Pendle Hill.

If you would like to join a meal before or after the program, please sign up using the link in your confirmation email, no later than 11:59 pm ET the Tuesday before your program begins.
